Vintage High Hollywood Glam Formal Evening Prom Party Dance Dress - Strapless Sleeveless Fancy Iridescent Topaz Brown Black Taffeta Fabric

Beautiful vintage evening or formal dress:

- Strapless, sleeveless sexy retro Hollywood Glamour style

- Sleek streamlined bodice or top that gently curves upwards in front for modesty with vertical stitch lines that meet up with diagonal breast darts for the perfect fitted look

- Soft flexible boning strips or reinforcements on each side

- Crazy full circle bias cut swing skirt portion on the bottom

- I am 5' 8" tall and when I hold this up to my front it hits at my ankles or just below - very dramatic length

- It has a current hem tucked under of about 1 1/8" - I assume a good quality seamstress / seamsperson could customize this easily if desired

- Very fine iridescent shimmery topaz brown to black crisp lightweight fabric with highly interesting black stitched accents that lend to the overall tucked pattern

- No tags or other hints at all to a maker or fabric content - entirely hand made / hand stitched and sewn

ESTIMATED AGE OR ERA = True original authentic antique / vintage piece. Broadly guessing late 1930's to very early 1950's based on fabric and cut - picture Audrey Hepburn with an elegant updo and opera gloves

METAL AND/OR MATERIAL = Unmarked for fabric content - a crepe feeling type fancy taffeta or similar

CLOSURE/CLASP = Side metal zipper of about 14" length including the top little hidden snap

MARKS = None that I could find

MEASUREMENTS = Approximatley ....

Front middle - waist line to top of dress = 11"
Back middle waist line to top of dress = 7.75"
Waist - while laying flat measuring one side only = 13" - so double for circumference
Total front length from middle of the curved bodice to the bottom hem = 51"
Same in back = 47"
Side opening with zipper and snap = 14" long

CONDITION = Fantastic condition for the age - random very very minor pin point holes the size of a pencil tip can be spotted if held to the light and actively looking for flaws. There are few tiny scattered fray or wear type mars - some, if not all may even be original to the fabric or the garment. See last pic - and that is by far the worst of it. Considering the age - someone has treasured this very special dress and taken fantastic care of it.
