Antique Georgian 1700's Star Shaped Cut Steel Pin Brooch - Stars for the Nobility - High Sparkle 13-15 Facets - European French 18th Century

Rare old antique 18th century cut steel star shaped brooch / pin:

~ Features an star design

~ Gently arches towards the center

~ Set with sparkly faceted cut steel "jewels"

~ High number of facets denote the earliest pieces - I have counted 13 to 15 on the round studs

~ Highest quality - individually faceted and set / riveted on to a single layered brass base plate

~ Quite possibly belonged to the famous / historical "Stars for the Nobility" line circa 1778 - where stars were made for the chivalrous orders - either way - a highly collectible scarce pin

~ Ready and waiting for your lapel, collection, and/or gift giving

ESTIMATED AGE OR ERA = True original rare antique 18th century piece - circa late 1700's to very early 1800's, Guessing European / French in origin

METAL AND/OR MATERIAL = mixed - faceted steel metal "gems" and back plate appears to be brass or brass toned metal

CLOSURE/CLASP = Early simple "C" catch

MARKS = None that I could find

MEASUREMENTS = Aprox 1.75" x 1.75"

WEIGHT = x

CONDITION = Great pre-loved antique condition - all cut steel sets themselves are present and remain undamaged. There is a small break or separation in the welding that can be spotted mainly from the back side - I don't know if this was an original over sight - or it is is a small break where the arms come together. See last pic. Cut steel is infamous for being brittle and very small amounts have survived, in any condition. So - all in all this rare piece is in fantastic vintage shape for being this old and collectible. Not rusted, dented, riddled with impurities, etc.

Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged. I will do my best to note anything glaring or distracting.
