Very special vintage handmade brooch:
~ Created by artisan Lucinda Yates from Portland, Maine
~ Her motto is "Changing the World one Pin at a Time" - and I believe she has accomplished what she has set out to do and more
~ I love her work and can't say enough about the powerful messages she creates. Originally these were created to benefit charity and also to providie beautiful, affordable, high quality, wearable, giftable pieces of art. They are all of that and so much more. I am in shock and awe that pieces of paper can come together to speak so loudly and evoke such thought and emotion
~ This example is from her "Woman Pins" series and features two female figures in a north - south set rectangular shape
~ Colorful bits of heavy paper cut outs are stacked and layered to create an image of two sassy women with very different personalities against a brick wall background
~ I think of shopping buddies when I look at this one - wear it with anything and you won't feel as alone on your next outing!
Ready and waiting for your lapel, wardrobe, collection, or gift giving - you will love this!

Please view & enlarge photographs to closely inspect fine details and to determine the amount of patina and/or wear. Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged and not mentioned. Individuals do have varying levels of desire and tolerance for "vintage charm" so do utilize the scroll arrows beside the photos to allow yourself the opportunity to view them all, as they are an integral part and extension of the description.
