Charming antique / vintage French mini tapestry:

~ Features a charming scene with two young girls in a wash room trying to get their work done. They look to be doing laundry with a mop and scrub brush nearby

~ A large raven type bird is trying to get the wash water and three Tabby kittens are causing trouble, too

~ Great Antique French Country Cottage period outfits and decor depicted

~ Fabulous colors and high quality - very fine thread count

~ All four edges are unfinished

~ This would be adorable framed and displayed as a decorative element in a wash room or laundry area. I think it would be cute for a number of applications including wall hanging, display, handmade purse or bag component, to incorporate into fashions, a pillow, upholstery and /or just about anything else you can dream up.

ESTIMATED AGE OR ERA = True antique / vintage piece - this looks to have quite a bit of age to it. Guessing early 1900's - 1930's perhaps with a antique revival theme

METAL AND/OR MATERIAL = All woven construction and has a fine cotton feel to the material. The back is stamped 94% cotton and 6% nylon

CLOSURE/CLASP = x

MARKS = Stamped on the back side with the fabric content outlined above and also MADE IN FRANCE

MEASUREMENTS = Overall measurement is about 9.5" X 10" - including the unfinished edges. So useable or visible size will most likely be smaller... depending on what your plans are. 9" X 8.75" would be my best estimate on the area inside the thin border.

CONDITION = Great vintage condition - No damage or quirks that I could find the mention. No holes, stains, rips, etc. This has been cherished and very well taken care of. In an excellent state of preservation overall.
