Thought Provoking Hand Made Paper Art Brooch - "HOUSE PINS" by Lucinda Yates - Red White and Blue w Butterflies & Tree and Metallic Glitter

Very special vintage handmade brooch:

~ Created by artisan Lucinda Yates from Portland, Maine

~ Her motto is "Changing the World one Pin at a Time" - and I believe she has accomplished what she has set out to do

~ I love her work and can't say enough about the powerful messages she creates. Originally these were created to benefit charity and also to provide beautiful, affordable, high quality, giftable, wearable pieces of art. They are all of that and so much more. I am in shock and awe that pieces of paper can come together to speak so loudly and evoke such thought and emotion

~ Colorful bits of heavy paper cut outs are stacked, layered and arranged to create this scene with houses, a big tree and two butterflies

~ This one is trapezoid shaped and has a stylized red white and blue patriotic theme - with two different shades of blue, bright cherry red, off white, and a metallic antique gold or bronze / brass color. Diagonal striped background with metallic cobalt blue and red glitter lines that gives it a plaid feel

CONDITION = Great vintage condition - no damage or quirks found to mention. Hardware is in good working order. A great find in an excellent state of preservation.
