Rare antique Belgian souvenir brooch:

~ Depicts the beloved Antwerp Beligum or Anvers Belgique - Town / City Hall Building

~ This circa 1564 building is an architectural wonder and now over 450 years old

AGE OR ERA: True antique piece - I am broadly guessing Victorian or 1800's in age. With such an old historical subject matter your guess may be as good as mine on this one

MARKINGS: None that I could find

METAL / MATERIAL: Brass or brass toned metal - may have had a light gold wash or gilding at some time. Very little of that remains

CLASP / CLOSURE: Old "C" style tension clasp

MEASUREMENTS: Face is oval in shape and measure aprox 1 3/8" x 1 1/8"

CONDITION = Acceptable to good vintage condition - given the age and rarity. There are a few tiny hairline cracks or crazes - mainly visible with magnification. See pictures - but please know the photos greatly exaggerate them in this case. Pin back hardware in good working order. A great find in an excellent state of preservation.
