ESTIMATED AGE OR ERA = True vintage pieces - she made jewelry as early as 1926 - I am guessing these to be circa 1940's. Patent date information also reads 1944.

METAL AND/OR MATERIAL = Brass or brass toned settings with faux pearl centers

CLOSURE/CLASP = Combination clip and screw on backs - clip to hold and you can fine tune the fit with the screw knob - the best of both worlds. The ingenious creation considers and incorporates the advantages of each back type and eliminates the design flaws simultaneously

MARKS = MIRIAM HASKELL imprinted in a circular shape around the center on both backs and also the clip screw combo hardware has a patent number of 2400513

MEASUREMENTS = Aprox 7/8" in diameter

CONDITION = Acceptable vintage condition given the designer nature. In as-found condition. I have not cleaned these up at all. There is moderate corrosion or greening, and upon inspecting my close up photos I noticed well hidden cracking in the faux pearl finish under/around the prongs. If you have the know-how and wanted to put in the time - the right person could breathe new life into these classic historic little gems. The earring backs are in good working order.

Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged and not mentioned.
