Rare Antique Scottish Carved Bog Oak Wood Thistle Flower / Maltese Cross Pin Brooch - 1800's Victorian Masterpiece - Intricate High Profile

Intricate carved bog oak Scottish thistle flower brooch:

~ Old antique Victorian pin from the 1800's
~ Hand crafted thistle - the National flower of Scotland
~ With rare hidden / integrated Maltese Cross profile or shape
~ Traditional rich deep dark brown bog oak coloring
~ Custom hand made hardware - little hinged end screwed on with the tiniest screws I have ever seen, old fashioned c clasp on the other side
~ Rare find in great condition

AGE OR ERA: Authentic true vintage piece - guessing mid to late 1800's in era

MARKINGS: None that I could find

METAL / MATERIAL: Bog oak wood and metal hardware. The pin back hardware looks to be mixed metals - some brass, and some silver toned

CLASP / CLOSURE: C clasp

MEASUREMENTS: Aprox 1 1/8" x 1 1/8" x just under 1/2" tall or thick (not including hardware)

WEIGHT: 7.1 grams on my scale

CONDITION = Fantastic vintage condition given the age - no damage found to mention. The stick pin portion of the hardware has a "V" shaped indent to it. I haven't tried to straighten it out - but I imagine you sure could if you felt the need. It very well may be original the the pin also. No chips or cracks at all found to the wood or carvings. I have not cleaned it all all - but from the looks of some of my extreme close ups - it looks like it could use some. I will leave it to the proud new owner. In an excellent state of preservation
