Romantic, sentimental, symbolic, broken pottery shard kissing swallows "Love Birds" pin brooch:

~ Features a very old salvaged upcycled / reclaimed ceramic or porcelain pottery piece

~ Swallows mate for life and always return to their nests after time away, which has been a long-standing symbol for ones love and devotion for their sweetheart. Swallow pieces were wildly popular and often given as wedding gifts or exchanged between bride and groom in Victorian times and were worn by both men and women. A lovely sentiment that still holds meaning and value today

AGE OR ERA: Authentic true antique / vintage jewelry piece - the pottery is much older than this brooch. Flow blue dates back to the Regency period in Europe circa 1820's and enjoyed popularity for about 100 years through the 1920's. This is a very old looking piece and motif. Incorporating this antique fragment into a wearable little treasure is more of a modern creation - most likely circa 1970's to 1990's.
