Elegant high end vintage Trifari scale necklace:
~ Features a full running / repeating motif of articulated panels
~ Whimsical and sophisticated dragon, fish, or snake type scale pattern
~ Exotic mythological and ethnic Orient and Egyptian undertones
~ Expertly designed by Trifari's famous top craftsman of era - Alfred Philippe per the patent information
~ The design patent was filed for in October 1948 and approved in January of 1949 - with the lack of a patent number and just a "PAT.PEND" mark on this piece would most likely date this necklace to 1948
~ It is very fluid and silky - yet heavy, well made and substantial
~ Warm silver metal base with a gold highlights would make this the ideal candidate to coordinate with both gold and silver toned jewelry
Ready and waiting for your neckline, collection, or gift giving - you will love this!

CONDITION = Great vintage condition - one of the small shield shaped links appears to be somewhat fixed than the others. It is to the upper right of the 7th larger link in from the left side and the area in question is on the left side of that smaller link. It may be very possible to work it loose and get it moving again or may be just a quirk of production. I don't want to force it on such am important piece of jewelry history. Perfectly stable, wearable, and most unnoticeable as is. Just mentioned for accuracy. See last pic. In an excellent state of preservation

Please view & enlarge photographs to closely inspect fine details and to determine the amount of patina and/or wear. Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged and not mentioned. Especially if obvious and/or prominent in the photos. Individuals do have varying levels of desire and tolerance for "vintage charm" so do utilize the scroll arrows beside the photos to allow yourself the opportunity to view them all, as they are an integral part and extension of the description.
