Antique Italian footed micro mosaic jewelry, trinket, keepsake box:

~ Features the original fine gauge needlepoint / floral lace rose flower bouquet in shades of pink, red, and yellow under glass viewing window

~ Framed with a classic Italian micro mosaic in a complimentary flower design

~ Twisted rope border on the lid

~ The back side of the top has three little swivel stays to allow you to access the viewing window. It would surely be possible to add your own memento or sentimental bit here if you desired

~ The bottom has three little turned matching brass feet

AGE OR ERA: Authentic true antique / vintage piece - broadly guessing 1800's

MARKINGS: MADE IN ITALY on the inside of the lid to the left of the hinge and a number of 20 near the hinge in the middle

METAL / MATERIAL: Brass metal body, round glass viewing pane, fine gauge lacy mesh needle work insert, glass micro mosaic art

CLASP / CLOSURE: Hinged in the back, tension seated lid and little half round fingernail tab in the front to open

MEASUREMENTS: 1 1/8" tall x 2 5/8" diameter, including the aprox 1/4" wide micro mosaic border

CONDITION = Fantastic vintage condition given the age. Hinge in great working order and free from play, give, or issues. Tension fit lid holds and operates as it should. Brass body free from dents or unsightly mars. All three access panel flat swivel pegs in good functioning order. Needle point floral mini tapestry focal point intact and has a lovely time worn tea stained appearance. There is a negligible amount of fraying around the very edges. Very well may be original to the piece due to the delicate nature of the thread or fabric. I only found one pencil point area of micro mosaic loss and another very small and stable area of cracking or crazing. Natural raw brass finish with lovely patina that only age and use can provide. I have not cleaned or polished this up at all as it adds to the vintage or antique charm, in my opinion. See last photos. Remarkable condition for the age of this highly collectible and rare piece. In an excellent state of preservation

Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged and not mentioned. Especially if obvious and/or prominent in the photos.
