Fantastic vintage 1950's petit point fine gauge woven tapestry fabric hand bag:
~ Features a lively market or bustling town scene complete with a camel and rider, three men huddled near a tent, two birds on a tree limb, and classic antique or old world architecture
~ The intricacy of the designs and execution are amazing
~ Made by L and M - an exclusive "Spot Lite" edition purse
~ This company was also known as Lowry and Mund and made handbag lines sold under different names including Spot-Lite and Edwards
~ During the 50s the company produced exotic themed bags. I believe this Arabesque or Middle Eastern motif is a rare one and may have been produced circa 1952
~ The tapestry designs on each side mirror or match exactly
~ Acorn shaped kisslock closure
~ Fancy filigree metal strip on the top of the front side
~ Chain handle
~ Off white satin lining with side slip pocket
~ This example is in great condition, will match so many things, and is bound to get noticed
Ready and waiting for your outfit, special day, collection, or gift giving - you will love it!

CONDITION = Great vintage condition - The exterior is perfect to near perfect condition. There is just one small area on the back side, lower right corner, with two small thread pulls. You very well may be able to weave or hook under to hide them if you felt the need. I haven't tried as they are most unnoticeable. The inside lining shows what I would estimate is a normal amount of minor discoloration or marks from use and age. Most likely makeup, small ink mark and similar. No holes, frays, offensive smells. Really in an excellent state of preservation

Please view & enlarge photographs to closely inspect fine details and to determine the amount of patina and/or wear. Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged and not mentioned. Especially if obvious and/or prominent in the photos. Individuals do have varying levels of desire and tolerance for "vintage charm" so do utilize the scroll arrows beside the photos to allow yourself the opportunity to view them all, as they are an integral part and extension of the description.
