Very small fancy antique doll with original silk dress and underclothing - circa 1892:
~ I purchased this from a very sweet old man who said it had belonged to his wife
~ I am going to be upfront and state that dolls are not my area of expertise what-so-ever
~ This charming little number is perfectly imperfect and looks to be intact
~ This Hallmark card box has been lovingly repurposed to house and protect this little treasure and I just don't have the heart to separate the two - so it will ship as is. I have not even taken it off the box
~ Looks to be a porcelain head with composition arms and legs
~ Painted accents - raven black wavy or curly hair with shoes to match and big blue eyes
Ready and waiting for your collection or gift giving - you will love this!
AGE OR ERA: Original true authentic antique piece - the previous owner had written 1892 on the pink felt backing .... so I am assuming that is either the date of the doll or when she or someone close to her acquired it
MARKINGS: 1892 in ball point pen ink on the pink felt, and I have not taken the doll off the backing to examine for any markings
METAL / MATERIAL: Mixed materials. Porcelain head, composition arms and legs, elegant silk dress, a bit of handmade lace at the neckline. Full petticoat and pantaloons hidden underneath
CLASP / CLOSURE: x
MEASUREMENTS: The doll itself measures a little over 4" long
WEIGHT: x
TESTING: x
U.S. RING SIZE: x
INVENTORY NUMBER OR NOTE: x
CONDITION = Perfectly imperfect.... Acceptable condition given the age and collectibility. The silk dress is tattered and the doll body shows it's age a bit in general. Considering the age of the piece - I would say average to above average shape, in my opinion. Please see photos and judge for yourself as I am not knowledgeable about dolls at all. I believe this still has lots of life left in it, joy to provide and I am hoping someone out there sees some value and can provide it with a great new home.

Please view & enlarge photographs to closely inspect fine details and to determine the amount of patina and/or wear. Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged and not mentioned. Individuals do have varying levels of desire and tolerance for "vintage charm" so do utilize the scroll arrows beside the photos to allow yourself the opportunity to view them all, as they are an integral part and extension of the description.
