L BRAND 14k Gold and Diamond Biker Pin Pendant Combination Piece - Rare Vintage Retro 1970's 1980's Motorcycle Jewelry - Unisex - Versatile

Very rare L Brand handmade symbolic meaningful 14k gold & diamond biker pin pendant combo:

~ Solid yellow gold eagle with impressive outstretched wings clutching a motorcycle in it's talons

~ Must have classic retro 1970's 1980's biker jewelry

~ I was told that this depicts a Harley - Davidson bike and that an eagle on a motorcycle with it's wings spread wide is a common symbol associated with the company, I'll let you decide for yourself.

AGE OR ERA: Original true authentic vintage piece - late 1970's to early 1980's based on the dates on the back side

MARKINGS: Several stampings / markings on the back side - I can only make a few out for certain - '79 (or possibly '78) and a hallmark and copyright c in a circle mark on the left wing, and another copyright sign L BRAND and what looks like '83 on the tail - also on the back middle of the motorcycle a '83 and copyright symbol, and on the back of the right tire another copyright and '83

METAL / MATERIAL: Solid cast 14k yellow gold and genuine diamonds. All parts test to be solid 14k gold and the diamonds test to be genuine mined from the earth diamonds (both tested with a non-marring, non-invasive methods of course)

ANECDOTAL AND/OR METAPHYSICAL: In general - the eagle is well known symbol of freedom, as well as a motorcycle. Combined - the meaning is amplified. Diamonds - beyond their modern representation as the gold standard stone of marriage and commitment, also represent faithfulness, purity and innocence. Diamond is the traditional birthstone for the month of April, and some believe it to be the stone of purity and constancy as well as have the ability to amplify energy (both positive and negative energy). Gold is believed to relieve tension, anger, and feelings of inferiority. Yellow gold harnesses the warmth of the sun and it encourages self-awareness and realization of dreams.

CLASP / CLOSURE: Heavy duty hand forged pin back and also bails for wearing as a pendant on a chain or cord of your choice

MEASUREMENTS: Wing span is over 1 3/4" from side to side, 3/4" tall from top to bottom, and depth or profile of about 5/8"

CONDITION = Good vintage pre-loved condition. The left diamond has a small chip that most likely occurred during setting as it has prong on top of it. The right diamond is very included - salt and peppery / feather crackle type inclusions. Just like your favorite rough-and-tumble biker - the stones aren't flawless and would receive a bad grade, but manage to overcome and sparkle at times. These very well may be sentimental or meaningful diamonds that someone wanted to preserve and include to have been set in such a fine piece of gold jewelry. The stone quality certainly doesn't affect wear or function at all, is original to the pin, and one would have to inspect closely with magnification to tell. Hardware in good working order. This is a fine example anyone would be proud to own. In an excellent state of preservation.

Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged and not mentioned.
