Very old authentic diamond Georgian pin brooch:
~ True antique piece is a rare find these days
~ Features a flourish or plume design encrusted with rose cut diamonds
~ Three pearls grace the center
~ Pear or tear cut diamond drop finishes this piece off perfectly
Ready and waiting for your lapel, collection, or gift giving - you will love this!
AGE OR ERA: Original true authentic vintage piece - I am guessing that this is European in origin and could very well date to the 1700's, 1600's or earlier as rose cut diamonds were used as early as the 1500's
MARKINGS: None that I could find
METAL / MATERIAL: Mixed metals - stones set in silver (as you will find in the finest earliest pieces like this) - most likely sterling grade or close and the gold toned hand forged hardware on the reverse side test to be solid 18k gold
ANECDOTAL AND/OR METAPHYSICAL: Beyond their modern representations as gold standard stone of marriage and commitment, they also represented faithfulness, purity and innocence. Diamond is the traditional birthstone for the month of April, and some believe it to be the stone of purity and constancy as well as have the ability to amplify energy
CLASP / CLOSURE: One of the oldest styles of pin fastener - a simple, but elegant "C" catch clasp.
MEASUREMENTS: 4 cm (or 1 5/8") wide and about the same long, including the dangle / drop
WEIGHT: 4.7 grams on my scale
TESTING: Diamonds test to be genuine , mined from the earth diamonds and the metals were tested using a non-marring, non-invasive method and are a mix of silver and 18k solid yellow gold

CONDITION = Good vintage pre-loved condition, given great amount of age, value, and collectibility. There are a few quirks - but no glaring damage that impedes wear or function that I found. The bottom pearl shows some adhesive upon close inspection. It may be a replacement or a fixative for the original pearl. (The top pearl has a hole on the top end and the bottom pearl that shows evidence of adhesive has no bottom hole). I have no way of knowing for certain. One side of the chain suspending the pendant drop has the fist few little links soldered or fixed in place. It is causing the chain to not form a perfect "V" - but rather the fixed portion or top angles towards the center of the pin then cascades downward. See pics. This is very curious and interesting to me as it was very intentionally done - I am just not sure of the reason. I am resisting my urge to tweek or straighten up the fixed links, as I am a purist and this adds a touch of charm. It may have been this way to center or balance the drop properly at the time. Your guess is as good as mine on this issue - easy fix if you would feel the need. Lastly, the diamonds are perfectly imperfect as most old rose cut diamonds of this era usually are. They all intact - but most have flaws, chippies, portions gone or missing, cracks, dark and feather inclusions, pitting, rough finishing, etc. Most, if not all, of that is original to the pin. They are all nicely matched in color (very crystal clear and free from yellow tinges) and sparkle like crazy. The hardware is in good working order. This is a fine example anyone would be proud to own. In an excellent state of preservation.

Please view & enlarge photographs to closely inspect fine details and to determine the amount of patina and/or wear. Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged and not mentioned. Individuals do have varying levels of desire and tolerance for "vintage charm" so do utilize the scroll arrows beside the photos to allow yourself the opportunity to view them all, as they are an integral part and extension of the description.
