Gorgeous vintage 1940's Mexican designer BETO sterling silver necklace:

~ Early, rare, and highly collectible necklace

~ Paisley shaped links filled with a mosaic of chalky sage green turquoise colored irregular pieces set into a rich terracotta or burnt umber brick red brown background

~ I am honestly not sure if it is true turquoise stone, similarly colored stone, or a resin or paste of some sort.

~ Unusual and highly interesting in any case

Ready and waiting for your neckline, jewelry collection, or gift giving - you will love this!

AGE OR ERA: Original true authentic vintage piece - estimating 1930's to 1940's due to the lack of a Taxco eagle mark - this is a pre-1948 piece for certain

MARKINGS: Several stampings on the back of one link include BETO TAXCO GRO 925 and HECHO EN MEXCIO (Made in Mexico)

METAL / MATERIAL: Sage green material outlined above and 925 sterling silver

ANECDOTAL AND/OR METAPHYSICAL: Turquoise is known as the 11th Anniversary gemstone. It is also a symbol of friendship and romantic love. Native Americans believe it gives protection. Others regard turquoise as a healing and purification stone and is associated with stabilizing moods and promoting calmness. Some say Turquoise aids in the absorption of nutrients, enhances the immune system, stimulates the regeneration of tissue, and heals the whole body. It is said to have anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects, the ability to neutralize over-acidity, benefit rheumatism, gout, stomach problems, and viral infections.

CLASP / CLOSURE: Hidden hook clasp

MEASUREMENTS: Aprox 15 1/4" long and 1/2" wide

WEIGHT: 37.2 grams on my scale

    TESTING: x

    U.S. RING SIZE: x

    INVENTORY NUMBER OR NOTE: x

CONDITION = Good vintage condition - given the age and delicate nature. There are quirks and inclusions to the green material as well as some very minor loss from age, use and wear. I counted three links with larger voids indicating missing material. It is very well hidden and blends so well it is even difficult to capture in photos. One link has some marring on the back side only. See last photos. Hardware is in good working order. In an excellent state of preservation.
