AGE OR ERA: Original true authentic vintage piece - estimating 1925 to the mid 1930's based on the historical information for this particular mark. I feel this has to be one of their earliest works. Clearly an art nouveau / art deco transition piece as it boasts elements from both eras.

MARKINGS: Highly sought after KTF mark stamped on the back side of the top right ring when viewing from the reverse side - see pics.

    METAL / MATERIAL: Outlined above

ANECDOTAL AND/OR METAPHYSICAL: Cicadas have long been a part of literature, culture, folklore and more since ancient times. Beliefs span just about every continent. They are commonly known to be a symbol of good luck (especially in France), death and rebirth - resurrection, long life and also funner / lighter symbolism such as warmth, light, summer, and happiness

CLASP / CLOSURE: Standard roll over safety clasp - east west set

MEASUREMENTS: Big bold pin at just shy of 4" long x 1 1/2" long

    U.S. RING SIZE: x

CONDITION = Good vintage condition - given the rarity and collectibility. Perfectly imperfect. I would say better than average condition - and that is if you could find another to compare it with. I was unable to find a suitable comparable by Trifari even remotely close in form. There is enamel loss on the front (mainly on the top right wing) and very minor rhodium plating flaking (one small spot) and negligible discoloration on the back only. Tiny rough area under one emerald green eye on the top side or edge of the piece - most likely from the casting / creation as there is no evidence anywhere else on the brooch that there may have been other legs or antennae at any time. So I don't believe that is damage - just mentioned for accuracy. See last photos. I believe the rhinestones all intact and the pin back is in good working order. In an excellent state of preservation.
