ANECDOTAL, METAPHYSICAL, HISTORY &/or LORE: The cross, which some believe is a symbol of protection, dates to the 11th century and remains a widely used symbol globally for everything from national flags to social clubs. It has been a motif in jewelry for nearly as long, and is mostly associated with the house of Verdura, founded by Fulco Di Verdura, whose iconic Maltese Cross cuff bracelets—which he first made for fashion designer Coco Chanel sported bejeweled crosses. The NYC-based atelier offers them, and other, Maltese cross pieces to this day.
JUST FOR FUN - AI DESCRIPTION - (GENERATED BY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE): This beautiful vintage brooch is a masterpiece of stained glass look artistry and antique brass toned metalwork. The regal cross design features five arms in the shape of a Maltese cross or asterisk, adorned with a stunning array of colorful resin jewels. This unique piece of jewelry is perfect for any occasion, from everyday wear to special events like graduations, weddings, and anniversaries. It's a great gift idea for anyone who loves vintage fashion and costume jewelry.
CONDITION: Good vintage condition - given the age and collectibility. All color wells are intact, albeit with the hot pink and purple having one small, stable, most unnoticeable crack in each. Very hard to tell and well hidden, due in part to the rippled texture. See last pics. Please study all photos to self-form an opinion of condition and gain additional item insight that only viewing photos can provide. A fantastic find in an excellent state of preservation.

Please view & enlarge photographs to closely inspect fine details and to determine the amount of patina and/or wear. Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged and not mentioned. Especially if obvious and/or prominent in the photos. Individuals do have varying levels of desire and tolerance for "vintage charm" so do utilize the scroll arrows beside the photos to allow yourself the opportunity to view them all, as they are an important integral part and extension of the description.
