Very unique eye-catching oval agate pendant necklace by Ostby Barton:
~ Rare, highly collectible and sought after maker - items are historically significant not only due to their beauty and fine craftsmanship, but also due death of Engelhart Ostby aboard the Titanic that fateful night
~ This gorgeous polished picture agate pendant is bezel set and surrounded with a floral motif that includes sentimental / romantic forget me not flowers
~ Open back set to really show off the agate
~ Full marked on the back side of the pendant drop
~ Charming fine gauge period chain included - very well could be the original necklace it came on originally
~ Easy to slip onto a chain of your choice if this shorter, delicate 15" chain doesn't work for you
Ready and waiting for your neckline, special day, outfit, display, collection or gift giving - you will love this!

ANECDOTAL, METAPHYSICAL, &/or LORE: Some believe the Agate to be a powerful grounding stone that balances, stabilizes energy, and promotes harmony. Being grounded means we're well connected with Earth and our surroundings. It's distinct bands symbolize the layers of life, growth, stability, and the cyclical nature of existence. It is often used to dispel feelings of anxiety, fear, and negativity, replacing them with a sense of calm and security. Agate is often used to enhance mental clarity, encourage focus and concentration, making it an excellent aid for those seeking peace and inner strength.

CONDITION: Great vintage condition - no flaws or quirks found to mention. Stone is free from cracks or chips and metal work in good order. When I was inspecting my close up photos - there appears to be a crack at first glance on the back side towards the top left side, but be assured it isn't - it is just a shallow scratch type that didn't reflect or present well in the photos. I rechecked and inspected with 10x magnification. Not apparent at all when looking at it in person. Please study all photos to self-form an opinion of condition and gain additional item insight that only viewing photos can provide. A great find in an excellent state of preservation.
