Vintage Delta Sigma Delta Ring:
~ Antique signet ring
~ Bears the coat of arms of the International Dental Fraternity - Historic Delta Sigma Delta
History = On November 15, 1882, seven dental students in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry founded the first dental fraternity in the world. They transposed the initials of the DDS degree, to DSD and substituted the Greek letters ΔΣΔ. Delta Sigma Delta was born
~I think this may be a very early ring - as there aren't any marks it most likely pre-dates the metal stamping act of 1906, could be as old as 1882
Ready and waiting for your finger or collection - you will love it!
*Measurements: 1/2" tall in front, band tapers to 3 mm in the back
*Marks: No marks that I can find - tests to be sterling silver
*US ring size: 6
*Weight: 5.0 grams on my scale
*Condition: Good condition for the age - no serious damage to mention. There are two little indents to the upper right of the logo - so minor I can't even capture a good image of them.
View & enlarge photographs to closely inspect fine details and to determine the amount of patina, and/or wear. Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged. I will do my best to note anything glaring or distracting.
