Intricate vintage / antique catholic religious token medallion pin:
~ Interesting large eye catching piece
~ Victorian looking designs on the cast metal silver gilt top portion
~ Reads H.N.S. - for the historically rich Holy Name Society - cited as formed in the 1400's or earlier
~ Round token or medallion reads - AT THE NAME OF JESUS EVER KNEE SHOULD BEND on the front - back has IHS SOCIETY OF THE HOLY NAME OF JESUS
~ East west pin back
~ I have a feeling this has quite a bit of age to it - it has been well loved and cherished
Ready and waiting for your lapel, collection, or gift giving - You will love it!
MARKINGS: No makers marks found on the top part - token has a very small F. KOCH just left of the bottom center
MEASUREMENTS: About 3 1/2" long x 2 3/4" wide overall - the round medallion is 1 1/2" in diameter
CONDITION: Acceptable vintage condition given the age and collectibility - top pin is missing it's stick portion, so it is non-functional. Bottom pin holds just fine, although the tip is blunt - so best suited for wearing on a sweater or loosely woven fabric where you don't need a piercing tip to penetrate the fabric. Easy to sharpen or hone a tip and/or replace top pin if you would desire
View & enlarge photographs to closely inspect fine details and to determine the amount of patina and/or wear. Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren't considered damaged. I will try my best to note anything glaring or distracting. Do utilize the scroll arrows beside the photos to allow yourself the opportunity to view them all, as they are an integral part of the description.
