Rare Blue Bakelite or Similar Antique. / Vintage Dress Clip Pair Set of 2 - Transparent Prystal Teal Blue Dichroic Color Change to Purple

Very rare carved blue teal blue bakelite or similar dress clips:

~ As fabulous as the carving work is here - the color steals the show

~ Deep rich, transparent jewel toned prystal teal blue that has dichroic or color change properties with subtle flashes of violet purple

~ Triple leaf foliage deep relief carved designs

~ These don't pass the traditional simichrome or the rub and smell tests for bakelite. If they aren't bakelite - they are just as desirable French bakelite, goliath, catalin, lucite or similar collectible vintage material. You can clearly see they are carved on the front - but have a curious poured smooth jello look on the backsides. Simichrome does react - but does not turn the classic amber shade we are familiar with - the pink cream when rubbed turns a dark dark indigo or blackish blue shade.

*Measurements: One is 2 1/8" long x 1 5/16" long and the other is ever so slightly shorter and a hair narrower at closer to 2 1/16" long x 1 1/4" wide.

*Condition: Fantastic vintage condition - no damage to mention. The clip back hardware is in great working order. If I had to find a quirk to mention - the clips are set ever so slightly askew as is typical and you will see in most pairs. The clips aren't identical in size or carving - due to the one of a kind hand carved nature, one wouldn't expect them to be. No chips, cracks, etc. Intact, rare and lovely in every way
